Q1: If my Broadband Router uses PPPoE , should I enable "Connect-on-demand?"
Yes,It depends. Some PPPoE
service providers offer both limited and unlimited service If you subscribe
limited PPPoE service, then it is better to enable
Connect-on-demand by clicking
checkbox of "Connect-on-demand" and set "Maximum Idle Time"
to whatever it is suitable for you. After you enable this function, your router will disconnect PPPoE
service from your ISP
when the time you set is passed unless you trigger router by
any action to access Internet.
Note: If the broadband router failed in automatic disconnect
from internet, it seems there are still some packets try to go to the internet and the router did not idle exactly.Close
all the program that may use the Internet ( MSN, ICQ, anti-virus
program, any program about auto-update over Internet ). |

If you want to manage the Broadband Router from a remote location
(outside of the local network through WAN port), it must specify the IP address of the remote PC, otherwise, leave the IP address 0.0.0.0, means all legal IP address can access the device.
You can manage Router from remote location by type http://WAN IP:8080 in
